| Overview |
The TSO season proper closes with a thrilling program of the exotic, the sordid, and the ribald. Maestro Felder presents his own suite of music from Bizet's popular opera, Carmen, the Spanish gypsy girl whose love drives men mad. Richard Strauss's opera Salome, widely banned at its introduction in 1905, is the shocking story of the eponymous character who tricks King Herod into beheading John the Baptist. Carmina Burana, featuring the famous "O Fortuna," is the most dramatic and beloved choral work of all time.
